~ Slow Cooker Sunday ~ Sloppy Second Ribs!
So the Dancing Daughter is home safely from the music festival and had a wonderful time. She and her friend even made the Triple J Facebook page (bottom left with the black nail polish)!
They were 2nd from the front in the mosh pit for hours and sheer exhaustion has now set in
Lucky ducks, these girls stayed with my Dad and Step Mum and were treated to smoker ribs on Friday night. These are definitely Sunday sloppy seconds to my Dad’s ribs, but for a throw ‘em in and get on with your day type slow cooker Sunday (i.e. make 2 cakes, cookies, steel cut oats, stewed fruit, dinner, clean the bathroom and do 6 loads of laundry), these are certainly worth the
effort 5 minutes it takes to get some ribs on the ready!
I wish you all a wonderful week ahead full of joy, peace, family, food and fun ♥
Slow Cooker Ribs ~ Serves 4-5
3 x full racks of baby back ribs
BBQ seasoning (Masterfoods or American style rib rub)
2 cups BBQ sauce (or Failsafe sauce)
Rub the meaty side of the ribs with the seasoning.
Spray the inside of the slow cooker with cooking spray. Stand the ribs up and put along the walls meat side out, stacking them inside one another.
Pour the BBQ sauce on top.
Cover and cook on low for 4-6 hours.
Remove from the slow cooker and place in an oven safe tray. Place under the grill for a few minutes (I sprinkled these with brown sugar to caramelise).
Serve hot with plenty of napkins!
