Rain, rain go away. Come again another day (after Monday please!) The first day we were exhausted and had a quick bite at Rattle n Hum pub……gluten free WOOD FIRED pizza guys!!! OMG it was soooo good!
Day 1 I scoped out the main strip and grabbed some coffees for breakfast. We had a leisurely start with everyone tired from travelling and we moseyed down to Macrossen Street for lunch. I had undertaken a bit of research to make sure there were some gluten friendly places for me and my Mom and was thrilled to discover Under Wraps.
We had a delicious meal of gluten free wraps and delicious fruit frappes made to order. I had a curried egg and vegetable wrap with a strawberry and blueberry frappe that was really good.
A good start to the holiday for sure!
We wandered around for a few hours looking in shops and restaurant menus before heading back to our apartment. Then there was a break in the rain so we headed to the beach for a quick swim.
Wine o’clock with sweet potato chips was followed by dinner at Tortillas (we needed Mexican!)
The Queso dip was delicious and they had quite a number of gluten free selections including gluten free Empanadas (MUST recreate this recipe!).
Poppy is sporting his Mambo shirt in the background. Tortillas also had real corn chips which I had for chicken nachos.
The frozen margarita was also very tasty.
We came back to our apartment to celebrate Chelsea’s birthday again with an Eskal marble cake and Peter’s no added sugar (gluten free) ice cream. A great day to a holiday with my family together
