Sesame Black Rice

Sesame Black Rice

A short time ago, before the Christmas mayhem and sugar overload, I made Sesame Beef for Slow Cooker Sunday.   It was served with the most delicious and intriguing Sesame Black Rice.

One day while I was in the supermarket, I spied this in the rice aisle.

While MasterChef had exposed me to the concept of “Forbidden Rice”, I had never seen it before and I was curious if it was different to normal rice.   The sesame beef seemed like the perfect accompaniment to this experimental rice.   And yes, I understand that rice is usually the side dish but since I wasn’t eating the sesame beef, the rice was the main event.   I was not disappointed as this dish was extremely tasty and something different on the table.
