Faux Foodie Friday ~ Halloween Hangover!

This Faux Foodie recipe comes with a warning……..CAUTION highly addictive and oh so delicious!

As I mentioned previously, Halloween was a BIG deal when I was a kid and has certainly gained momentum here in Oz over the last 20 years that I’ve been here.  However, we did not receive one lonely trick or treater this year which was very disappointing.  Disappointing to not see any cute costumes *AND* because of the inordinate amount of Halloween candy I had leftover.  (Note to self:  only buy candy with gluten in them to avoid temptation!)

This is just the ticket for all that leftover chocolate if you, too, had no trick or treaters.  If you are left gazing into the candy bowl like Samantha

Or you’re left clutching that last little fun size treat

well, you’ll just have to RUN to the grocery store (or ride your Halloween broomstick)  to get the ingredients to make this over the top leftover candy brownie! Trust me, you don’t want to miss this one!

Leftover Halloween Candy Brownies (yield is 24 brownies)

1 x box of your favourite gluten free brownie mix
Leftover Halloween candy chopped

Preheat oven according to brownie instructions.   Line the brownie pan with baking paper.

Prepare the brownie mix as indicated on the box .

Pour in to the brownie pan and bake for 5 minutes less than indicated.

Remove the brownies from the oven, spread the chopped candy on top and pop the pan back into the oven for 4-5 minutes.

Allow the brownies to cool completely before attempting to cut.  These are also VERY good if placed in the fridge.

Put a thin layer of icing down first since candy corn doesn’t melt.
