Joyfulness

This morning didn’t start out the way that I had planned.  There was a series of issues that really just put me in a cranky mood.  Waking up at 3am and not going back to sleep, a Pilates class screw up (again!), the ever changing plans of a teenage girl.   In perspective, they are minor inconveniences, for sure.  Perspective brought about contemplation.

My sweet sister has been recently sharing her thoughts of gratitude and it got me thinking about the little things that have brought me joy over the past few weeks.

Last night our dinner table was once again packed with our fabulous kids and their friends.

Two weeks ago a complete stranger at the Doctors office told me I looked gorgeous when I was sporting one of my favourite Alannah Hill skirts.

Today I was asked to bake for a ballet school bake sale.

I’ve crossed numerous items off my to do list today including visiting the local wholesale food business and getting some cranberries.

And tonight I got to have a date with the greatest guy on the planet.  We have been to Grill’d for a quick meal (I love their portabello burger on a gluten free bun and their fries are so yummy).

We also went to see Argo which I can highly recommend.  It is very suspenseful and was nice to see on a big screen rather than being a “jack in the box” with a DVD.  What a wonderful evening with the love of my life :)

Have a joyful weekend everyone xxxx

Oh YES!! Joy is all around us, family, friends, love. Definitely not just the big and obvious but in all the miriad of small, everyday things from the blind faith of animals that depend on us for their very existence, to the miracle of birth, to watching plants grow and flourish from the love and nurturing you give them, to stand out in the rain and feel it running down your face, to be able to hear the sweet sounds of birds in the early morning, to be on a deserted beach at sunrise. It is just life itself…. the joy of life is all around us. We just need to stop from time to time, take a breath and enjoy it.
